Bersatunews Jakarta – Kelompok Separatis Teroris Papua (KSTP) Pimpinan Egianus Kogoya penyandera pilot Susi Air, Philip Mark Mehrtens selama hampir 1 tahun sejak 7 Februari 2023, mengklaim bahwa mereka akan membebaskan pilot tersebut. Mereka mengatakan bahwa pilot berkebangsaan Selandia Baru ini akan dilepaskan karena warga Selandia Baru mendukung kemerdekaan Papua. Mereka juga menganggapnya bukan musuh, tapi teman yang tinggal bersama mereka di wilayah Nduga.
Namun, pihak aparat keamanan Indonesia belum mempercayai klaim tersebut karena hingga saat ini belum ada kesepakatan resmi mengenai pembebasan sandera. Panglima TNI, Jenderal Agus Subiyanto menyampaikan bahwa TNI masih mengedepankan pendekatan persuasif dan diplomasi melalui Forkopimda yang ada di wilayah tersebut. Menurutnya, pendekatan persuasif adalah cara yang paling diutamakan untuk menyelesaikan konflik ini guna menghindari jatuhnya korban.
Pemerintah Kabupaten Nduga juga memiliki peran penting dalam upaya mencapai kesepakatan melalui negosiasi. Akan tetapi, upaya negosiasi tersebut mengalami kendala setelah Penjabat (Pj) Bupati Nduga, Edison Gwijangge diultimatum KSTP saat hendak menjadi negosiator. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa KSTP masih menggunakan kekerasan dan mengancam upaya damai yang sedang dilakukan.
Dalam upaya pembebasan pilot Susi Air, tahap negosiasi dengan KSTP Pimpinan Egianus Kogoya dipercayakan kepada Pj Bupati Nduga Edison Gwijangge, sebab Edison Gwijangge memiliki hubungan keluarga dekat dengan Egianus Kogoya. Hingga saat ini, upaya negosiasi masih mengalami kendala karena pilot Susi Air, Kapten Philip Mark Mehrtens, diketahui dikawal dengan ketat oleh kelompok kriminal Papua.
Meskipun menghadapi tantangan dan risiko, TNI tetap berkomitmen untuk menggunakan pendekatan persuasif dan diplomasi dalam upaya pembebasan pilot Susi Air. Sudah banyak anggota TNI yang gugur dalam operasi ini, namun mereka tetap teguh dalam memegang prinsip-prinsip kemanusiaan dan mengutamakan keselamatan sandera.
Pembebasan pilot Susi Air ini menjadi penting untuk menjamin keselamatan sandera dan masyarakat di wilayah tersebut. Semoga proses pembebasan dapat berjalan lancar dan tanpa ada korban yang tidak perlu. TNI juga berharap KSTP dapat menyadari bahwa kekerasan bukanlah solusi namun hanya dialog dan perdamaian adalah jalan yang lebih baik untuk menyelesaikan konflik.
