Bersatunews Jakarta – Pembantaian 13 Orang Pendulang Emas di Papua Pegunungan: Perebutan Tambang Ilegal oleh Kelompok Kriminal

Pada pekan lalu, terjadi pembantaian mengerikan di pedalaman Kabupaten Yahukimo, Papua Pegunungan, yang menewaskan 13 orang pendulang emas. Kejadian tragis ini disebabkan oleh perebutan tambang ilegal yang melibatkan antara sesama Kelompok Kriminal Bersejarah (KKB). Klaim ini disampaikan oleh Panglima TNI, Laksamana Yudo Margono, dalam sebuah konferensi pers yang digelar di kompleks Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta Pusat, pada Minggu (29/10/2023).

Menurut Yudo, persaingan sengit terjadi di wilayah tersebut antara kelompok KKB yang terlibat dalam kegiatan tambang ilegal. “Ada persaingan kegiatan-kegiatan ilegal di sana, tambang ilegal, sebenarnya yang main pemainannya ya orang KKB semuanya, persaingan antara KKB lah sama KST,” kata Yudo.

Kejadian ini tidak terisolasi, dan motif serupa juga terlihat dalam peristiwa penyerangan Puskesmas di Papua beberapa waktu lalu. Yudo menyatakan bahwa kelompok ini meminta kepercayaan dari masyarakat dan pemerintah untuk membangun, namun malah merusak lagi.

TNI-Polri bersama aparat gabungan telah bersatu untuk menjaga stabilitas keamanan di wilayah tanah Papua, bertujuan agar masyarakat dapat hidup dalam ketenteraman. Upaya pencarian korban konflik di Yahukimo dan evakuasi masyarakat ke lokasi yang aman juga dilakukan untuk meminimalkan kerugian.

Peristiwa serangan pertambangan ilegal di Distrik Seradala, Kabupaten Yahukimo, diakibatkan oleh kelompok KKB asal Nduga di bawah pimpinan Asbak Koranue dan Yotam Bugiangge pada tanggal 16 Oktober 2023. Total korban serangan ini mencapai 95 orang, dengan 13 di antaranya meninggal dunia, sementara 82 orang selamat dan dievakuasi ke Distrik Dekai.

Kejadian ini menunjukkan eskalasi kekerasan dan ketidakstabilan yang menghantui wilayah Papua. Upaya penegakan hukum dan pemulihan stabilitas sangat penting untuk menjaga keamanan masyarakat di daerah ini.
