Menteri Pertahanan Republik Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, mengungkapkan rasa terima kasihnya kepada Suku Kamoro atas hibah lahan di Papua yang kini menjadi lokasi megah Rumah Sakit (RS) TNI Tingkat IV di Timika. Dalam konferensi pers pascaperesmian pada Jumat, 10 November 2023, Prabowo menyampaikan apresiasinya terhadap kesetiaan Suku Kamoro yang tak hanya berbicara, melainkan terbukti melalui aksi nyata, yakni sumbangan lahan seluas ribuan hektar untuk kepentingan Republik Indonesia.

Prabowo memuji kesetiaan Suku Kamoro yang telah berlangsung selama puluhan tahun, mengungkapkan bahwa bukti kesetiaan tersebut tidak hanya terdengar dari bibir, melainkan terpatri dalam hati mereka. “Mereka setianya tidak di mulut, setianya di hati, dan setianya mereka buktikan dengan menyumbang cukup besar ribuan hektar untuk pemerintahan Republik Indonesia. Ini salah satu buktinya rumah sakit ini berdiri di atas tanahnya Suku Kamoro,” jelasnya.

Langkah bersejarah Suku Kamoro ini membuka pintu bagi pembangunan RS modern di Papua. Menurut Prabowo, rencananya adalah terus membangun rumah sakit hingga akhir tahun, dengan target peresmian 26 fasilitas kesehatan yang dapat diakses oleh seluruh masyarakat. “Cita-cita kita, di setiap kabupaten harus ada rumah sakit yang modern, yang fasilitasnya cukup sehingga prajurit, ASN, dan rakyat tidak perlu jauh-jauh, tapi ada pelayanan kesehatan dekat mereka. Ini cita-cita kita, insyaallah,” tambahnya.

Sebelumnya, pada tanggal 10 November 2023, Menteri Pertahanan Prabowo Subianto secara resmi meresmikan RS Tingkat IV di Timika, Papua. Rumah sakit ini bukan hanya untuk kepentingan TNI, tetapi juga terbuka untuk seluruh masyarakat sekitar Papua. Prabowo menyatakan, “Baru saja kita melihat selesainya dibangun rumah sakit tingkat IV Kesdam 17 Cendrawasih, dan ini rumah sakit, saya kira, yang baru dibangun di daerah Timika untuk kepentingan TNI tapi juga terbuka untuk seluruh rakyat sekitar sini.” Dengan peresmian ini, diharapkan pelayanan kesehatan di wilayah tersebut akan semakin meningkat.
