Bersatunews Jakarta – Timnas U24 Indonesia kalah dalam perjalanan ke Asian Games 2022 dari Uzbekistan U24 di babak 16 besar. Pelatih Timnas U-24 Indonesia Indra Sjafri mengucapkan selamat kepada para pemainnya atas kompetisi yang mereka jalani.
Kamis sore (28/9/2023) pertandingan sengit digelar di Stadion Shanghai WIB Sports Center. Pertandingan berakhir imbang 0-0 setelah waktu normal dan akhirnya dilanjutkan ke perpanjangan waktu. Sherzod Isanov mencetak gol pertama untuk Uzbekistan U24 pada menit ke-92 setelah Indonesia U24 tertinggal dalam pertandingan tersebut. Tim U-24 Indonesia sempat mencetak gol melalui Ramadan Sananta pada menit ke-109 namun gol tersebut dianulir karena Sananta dianggap berada di posisi lini tengah. Pada menit ke-112 Ugo Samir mendapat kartu kuning kedua dan situasi timnas U-24 Indonesia semakin sulit.
Tim Uzbekistan U-24 unggul 2-0 melalui gol kedua Esanov pada menit ke-120. Usai kekalahan tersebut Timnas U-24 Indonesia harus mundur dari kompetisi namun Indra Shafari sangat memuji upaya para pemainnya. Laga hari ini merupakan laga terakhir timnas U-24 Indonesia. Selain itu Indra Sjafari mengatakan selepas pertandingan: “Saya ingin mengucapkan terima kasih atas upaya para pemain. Indra Sjafari juga mengakui bahwa para pemain mengikuti instruksinya dengan benar tetapi mendapat masalah karena beberapa kesalahan kecil.
Ia menambahkan “Mereka berjuang untuk 2×45 menit dan sesuai dengan rencana permainan yang kami putuskan pertandingan dilanjutkan ke perpanjangan waktu. Meski perjalanannya harus berakhir di babak 16 besar Indra Shafri memberikan apresiasi kepada para pemain yang terdampak. Timnas U-24 Indonesia berjuang keras atas perjuangannya. Tim U-24 Uzbekistan sukses lolos ke babak perempat final Asian Games 2023.
